So don’t be surprised if you find yourself rubbing shoulders with your favourite Hollywood Couples, Sports Stars, Supermodels and legendary Musiciens.Maldives has been a celebrity magnet through the years. Many stars flock to the pristine islands with the special someone in their lives. Maldives has proven to be the perfect hideaway to avoid the prying cameras of the paparazzi and enjoy some much needed privacy for most of these celebrities. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy our favourite stars upclose and personal.
Recent celebrity sightings have included Katy Perry and Russell Brand who flew straight to Maldives for their honeymoon after their extravagant wedding in India.
Early this year Spanish soccer Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo kicked off the year with Russian girlfriend Irina Shayk on the Islands.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes famously took their honeymoon holiday in the Maldives, The couple with their new born daughter Suri is said to have spent a week cruising around the atolls in a super-yacht. Other celeb spottings in the Maldives over the past year have included Sting, Mick Jagger, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss Naomi Campbell and Rod Stewart. Megastars from China also seem to enjoy the luxurious isolation of the Maldives. Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Zhang Ziyi and basketball star Yao Ming have all visited the islands.
