While the global pandemic has had a massive impact on travel, the Maldives was one of the first nations to recover and open up the country for tourists. So, if you’re planning on visiting these islands anytime soon, here are the important guidelines and requirements you need to keep in mind.
The Allowed Countries
First off, it’s important to figure out if your country is included in the Maldives green list. Currently, all countries are allowed to enter the islands but it’s always a good idea to check the official Maldives Tourism website for potential changes.
The Process
In order to get into the Maldives, you’ll need to have a COVID-negative certificate on you upon arrival. You will also need to do a PCR test 96 hours prior to your arrival on the islands. Both these documents can be submitted through the online immigration portal.
Why It’s Safe
It’s worth asking why the Maldives is considered to be safe to travel to. Well, the country is helped out by the fact that it is separated into smaller islands, helping to prevent the spread of the disease. Most of these islands only have one resort each as well. For instance, the OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI is on its own private island and is an amazing luxury resort Maldives has on offer.
Important Guidelines
Due to the pandemic, certain popular beach activities have been restricted in the Maldives. That being said, most of these restrictions are being lifted gradually and you can even island hop now!
