Are you Daydreaming of an island escape with rich shores of white powdery sandy soft to your feet, the sound of gentle waves lapping at the beach…days in the sun and a lot of water fun…! Well, the Raa Atoll in the Maldives offers just that. Here’s a bit more about the destination.
How to get there?
The Raa Atoll is accessible through seaplane flights. You can either hitch a seaplane ride from Male to Ifuru Airport which will take about 45 minutes, or you could take one to Dhravandhoo Airport which is about 5 minutes faster. Once you’ve reached one of these airports, all you have to do is catch a short speed boat ride to your resort.
The topographical and geographical conditions of the Raa Atoll make it rich in marine life. The islands located inside the atoll are mostly shallow plateaus while the outer ridges of Raa Atoll are deep. This makes it ideal for the proliferation of corals. Both reef and pelagic fish call these waters home.
What can visitors expect?
Speaking of what the Raa Atoll has to offer for travellers, one thing is for sure, you’ll never be disappointed! With all kinds of water sports from snorkelling and diving to excursions on inhabited islands in their area, visitors have much to look forward to during their stay at a Maldives overwater villa in this atoll.
