The idyllic Maldives islands bring to mind images of pristine white sandy stretches, swaying palm trees and all the beautiful shades of blue known to man. Apart from being awestruck by your surroundings, here are some travel tips to help plan out your island adventure!
COVID Protocols
The good news is that there is no longer a requirement to quarantine upon your arrival in the Maldives! The government does however require that you show proof of a negative PCR test taken within 96 hours of your departure time from the first port of embarkation when travelling to the Maldives.
Picking A Resort
When shortlisting accommodation options in terms of the best Maldives resort, you are spoilt for choice in this archipelagic nation! Resorts such as Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon and many other island resorts are famous for Maldivian generosity and hospitality and would be a great choice!
When To Go
Now that you’ve picked the resort, it’s time to plan your visit and book your flights!
While the Maldives is a year-round destination, some months do see the worst of the monsoon showers. So, the driest time to go is during the November to April spell when there’s ample sunshine and little to no rainfall.
Attire
You might be surprised to read that outside the travel and tourism bubble, the locals are quite conservative and traditional. So, while you are free to wear whatever you please while on your private resort island, please respect the sensibilities of the locals and dress conservatively when venturing into public spaces.
