The two seasons
The Maldives goes through a dry and wet season, each with its own benefits for holidaymakers. The dry season begins in December going on until May, is much cooler with less humidity. June to November you will see an increase in humidity with an increase in wind and torrential rains.
Airfare
Just like the weather airfares also do not vary drastically. From January through to May flight prices from New York to Male are at a consistent low. Both budget carriers and international carriers see a spike in passengers travelling into the islands and the airfare follows suit.
Climate
Even though Maldives is placed in the tropics the country has rarely faced harsh storms or monsoons and weather never fluctuates into extremes, unlike its neighbours. Within the last 128 years, the islands have only dealt with 11 cyclones.
