In what will provide viewers the world over a chance to witness the stunning wildlife of Sri Lanka, the Natural History Unit (NHU) of the BBC was recently in the island filming at some of its national parks. Partnering with Cinnamon Nature Trails which belongs to the John Keells Hotels Group, the BBC crew headed to a number of well known historical sites including Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya as well as the national parks of Wilpattu and Minneriya. On their tour they were hosted at Sri Lanka hotels belonging to Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts that provided easy access to many of these film locations. In what will be included as part of the Monsoon documentary programme, these archaeological sites and national parks will provide glimpses into the exotic beauty and rich history of the island, which in turn will lead to greater exposure of Sri Lanka being seen as a premier wildlife tourism destination in Asia.
