Set against a stunning backdrop of clear blue seas and coral reefs, the Maldives is a must-visit for every traveller’s bucket list. Discover everything you need to know before embarking on your adventure, and experience your very own slice of heaven, embraced by the warmth of the tropical sun.
Before Your Flight: Travel Requirements
Before booking your holiday, be sure to check the relevant visa and Maldives arrival requirements. In general, all visitors must have a passport valid for at least a month.
Island Transfers
Whether on a boat or on a plane, travelling from island to island is an adventure in and of itself. However, keep in mind that there may be luggage restrictions, especially for seaplanes. Additionally, seaplanes only operate till 4 pm. For islands further away from the airport, such as The Residence Maldives, you may need to take a domestic flight.
Full-Board & All-Inclusive
Due to its secluded location, things can get a little expensive in the Maldives, and food is no exception. Meal plans and all-inclusive packages are great ways to experience the luxuries of the island without breaking the bank.
The Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit entirely depends on your itinerary. Generally, aim for the dry season (November-April) to enjoy clearer skies and calmer waters. However, if you are planning on surfing, catch the best waves from April to October. Dive seasons, on the other hand, vary. If you’re keen on spotting whale sharks, plan for July through early October, although you will need to be prepared for rain.
