For many flying out to Maldives “single” seems like a holiday suicide mission. Because mention the Maldives and you think of PDA afflicted couples frolicking on the white sandy beaches. Many of us have avoided the islands imagining them to be a common destination for smug honeymooners. But an increasing number of singletons are flocking the islands to detox, dive, and basically relax. Maldives is one of the most spectacular places on earth, and certainly shouldn`t be preserved only for love struck couples. It is the ideal place to get some “me” time. Maldives will certainly give “Alone time” a whole new perspective.
Indulge yourself in a luxurious villa that will spoil you for life. Treat yourself to the most heavenly food without having to whisper “dinner for one”, staff won`t be grilling you about your solitary arrangement as they are informed on who travels alone etc, in any case it only makes them extra friendly. Traveling in a sea place is also a must, to enjoy the magnificent views.
Spend your afternoons diving, almost all resorts have PADI certified instructors who will help you navigate into the reef. But if you’re nervous about learning to dive there’s always snorkeling and many other water sports to keep you occupied. Wind-surfing, waterskiing, fishing and kayaking are all very popular in the Maldives.
If you wish to venture off the island take a trip on a traditional Maldivian dhoni. You can watch the dolphins playing, which is certainly an unrivaled experience.
Last but not least just Relax. Indulge in yoga at sunrise to relieve all your stress. And of course the spa is a must visit. Be sure to get amazing aromatherapy massages which will seal in all the relaxation you`ve relished on your visit.
Sure it would certainly be nice to share all this with a special someone but for those of us who haven`t met that certain someone, Maldives proves that you don`t really need anyone to enjoy paradise.
