The Maldives is one of the very few countries in the world to have a national public ferry network. All inhabited islands are connected through this ferry system and this is how the locals get around.
Busses in the Maldives are not common. Only Male and Addu City have buses. Their fares are very reasonable and they follow designated routes.

Bicycles, cars, and motorcycles are the other ways to get around in the Maldives. There are no trains here though.
