Getting around in the Maldives is not as easy as you think! If it’s a fast way, it’s going to be super-expensive. If it seems affordable, you can’t expect it to be fast. So, make your choices wisely.
Air traveling
Well, it’s the coolest and fastest way to explore the Maldives. Seaplanes are the most common method, but you find charter or regular domestic flights too. But, you will have to more! They are very expensive.
Ferries
The Maldives is one of the very few countries in the world to have a national public ferry network. All inhabited islands are connected through this ferry system and this is how the locals get around.
Dhoni Charters
During your stay at Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy a dhoni ride. Their Emboodhoo Lagoon area guide includes details about the experience and charges as well.
Bus
Busses in the Maldives are not common. Only Male and Addu City have buses. Their fares are very reasonable and they follow designated routes.
Other modes of transportation
Bicycles, cars, and motorcycles are the other ways to get around in the Maldives. There are no trains here though.
