Experiencing nightlife in a particular destination is part of a cultural adventure worth experiencing when on holiday. Different destinations have different kinds of nightlife though the general activities are the same be it club hopping to night shopping. However, in the Maldives, it is slightly different. Instead of clustered around the main capital, Male, nightlife here varies at each Maldives luxury resort. Yes, while Male does have its own bars and restaurants, most often you will be pretty much spending all your time (and nights) at the resort of your choice. The good news is, that each resort does have its own nightlife activities some of which will be quite different to what you are generally used to!
When it comes to Maldives nightlife, the activity usually starts from sunset itself, though the fun doesn’t have to be limited to being on land. Resorts such as COMO Cocoa Island, The Maldives offer activities like sunset cruises that take you out to sea amidst glorious evening vistas. You may get a chance to see dolphins swimming wild and free and as the sky begins to be adorned with shimmering stars, you can pop open a bottle of champagne and enjoy an enchanting night with that special someone.
Sunset and night fishing are also popular and can be enjoyed during the latter part of the day. Certain resorts even offer night snorkelling, a unique activity that lets you see what the marine life is up to after dark!
For more traditional nightlife activities, each resort will provide something different. Many have beach bars or lounge areas by the shore where you can sip cocktails and enjoy chilled out vibes and music. Some have their own clubs which host popular local or international DJs and even live acts. Even movie watching can be enjoyed at certain resorts that set up a special outdoor cinema under the stars.
One thing’s for sure, there is never a dull moment even at night in the Maldives!
