If you want to enjoy Maldives in luxury and privacy Adaaran Prestige Vadoo conveniently located in the South Male Atoll would be a good choice.
Though the Maldives has superb surfing sites it was only around the 1970’s that the Maldivian Archipelago was recognized as a surfer’s paradise. The offshore breezes, the glassy Ocean surface and the head high or double overhead swells lend themselves superb surfing. There is a remarkable consistency in the swells too. Though the swells around the Maldivian Archipelago are not extremely high they make good barrels and long waves ideal for intermediate and advanced surfers. The conditions of the seas for surfing depend on the atolls and the best breaks are found on the outer reefs on the south east sides of the atolls. April to October and March/November are good for surfing in the Maldives. The Maldivian Archipelago’s can be divided into surf zones or sections as the Male, Central and South Atolls.
The Male Atolls can again be divided as North and South Male Atolls. The differences between them are of swells, consistency and the numbers surfing. The Central Atolls are known for moderate and good reef breakers which are mostly right handers. The North Male Atoll is perhaps the best Maldivian surf area with the breakers being more consistent and perfect than at other places. The ring shapes of the Southern Atolls have many reef passes that are great surfing sites.
Good surfing sites in the Central Atolls are Muli, Veyvah, Adonis, Finnimas, Mahibadhoo and Ying Yang. Popular sites for surfing in the South Atolls are Antiques, Beacons,Voodoos or Blue Bowls and Tiger Stripes. Chickens and Cokes in the North Male Atoll and Rip Tides and Twin Peaks in the South Male Atools are also great for surfing.
