The Maldives is open for tourists to make their holiday dreams a reality. However, all travellers – including those who are vaccinated – must submit a negative PCR test for COVID-19 upon arrival. This should be taken within 96 hours before arrival.
Non-tourist passengers…
Non-tourist passengers such as returning students, residents, and work visa holders will need to provide a negative PCR test on arrival (even though they have completed both doses of vaccination), which has been taken within 96 hours prior to arrival. And they will be required to quarantine for 7 days upon arrival. Those who have not been vaccinated will be required to register on the Haalybelun portal and self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival.
South Asian Countries Allowed Access
With effect from July 15th, 2021, the authorities have allowed passengers from South Asian countries such as Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka to enter the country, as long as they will be headed to a luxury resort in Maldives the likes of OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI.
Lockdown Details
In the Maldives, a public health emergency was been declared, which will be in place until the 2nd of August. In the Greater Male region, gatherings of up to 30 people are now allowed. Only delivery/takeout is allowed from restaurants and bars.
Tourist Arrivals
Those who are arriving at the country as tourists must possess a confirmation for a hotel reservation for the entire stay at a registered tourist facility. Split stays should be approved by the Ministry of Tourism at least two days prior to departure.
