Getting There
Sultan Park can be found in the capital Malé which can be easily visited on excursions from resorts to the likes of Adaaran Club Rannalhi. The island is relatively small so finding the park which is located across from the Islamic Centre won’t be too hard and can be easily included on a sightseeing tour.
The Former Royal Palace
One of the main tourist attractions in Maldives, this site can be found in an area where the Royal Palace once stood before it was demolished in the 16th century. A wing of the Royal Palace that wasn’t destroyed now houses part of the National Museum which can be easily visited from the park.
Space for Relaxation
Now known as “Rasrani Bageecha”, Sultan’s Park has a laid-back atmosphere and green spaces, ideal to enjoy a leisurely stroll or just sit back and unwind before, in between or after your Malé adventures. There are also playgrounds that the little ones are bound to love.
The Transformation
The park underwent a transformation in 2017 and has many new features. Those visiting today will find a green tunnel, a sizeable water fountain, a treehouse and a vertical garden along with a deck that offers views of the entire area
