Bait Fishing

Reef Fishing
If you didn’t already know, the Maldives is home to 2.86 per cent of the world’s reefs which means that there are thousands of reef fish here. Pelagic Fishing
The Maldivian fishing industry is famous for offshore catches like tuna and reef sharks who live in the deeper part of the ocean. Anchovies and Herring are the small fish found in this part of the ocean while swordfish, ocean sharks and barracuda are the bigger fish that feed on them.
Mariculture
This is the cultivation of small marine organisms that are abundant in the waters of the Maldives. Giant clams, spiny lobsters, bêche-de-mer, sea cucumbers, pearls, and grouper are a few that are harboured here.
