Dreaming of sun-kissed beaches and luxurious comforts for a post-pandemic getaway? The Maldives makes a great choice and the best thing is, it’s perfectly safe for holidaymakers.
Safe Destination
Due to the strict guidelines and procedures followed including at luxury hotels, Maldives has received the World Travel and Tourism Council’s “Safe Travels Stamp”. Also of note, is that the Airport Council International has granted the “Airport Health Accreditation” to the nation’s Velana International Airport.
Accommodation
Since each luxury resort is on a private island, guests can enjoy more seclusion, while outside contact is reduced too. Additionally, properties such as The Nautilus Maldives have adopted stringent health, sanitisation and hygiene protocols in keeping with guidelines of the Health Protection Agency of the Maldives and World Health Organisation.
Rooms & Resorts
Rooms are thoroughly disinfected before the arrival of new guests, while fixtures and furniture are sanitised daily. If you do have concerns about this, check to see if your resort of choice also regularly disinfects the pool as well as air-conditioning and filters, dining venues, the gym and spa with WHO-approved chemical products.
Arrival & Transfers
You are not required to quarantine on arrival but must show a result of a negative PCR test
taken within 96 hours of your departure. Transfers to resorts in Maldives are mostly by speedboat or seaplane which are sanitised too; check if the resort offers private seaplane transfers which is an ideal choice.
